How do you feel about your ideas at the moment? Do you feel you have explored many potential reactions/ideas?

As far as the current situation is concerned, I think my ideas are progressing in a smooth direction. The divergent thinking map we made last week has helped me a lot as always, allowing me to develop my project from many different aspects. To be sure, I've explored some interesting ideas, experimented with novel materials, and experimented with techniques I've never tried before, like monoprint.

Have you used a range of methods and techniques? How has this helped generate ideas? Give examples.

I tried a range of techniques like watercolor, veneer printing, and sewing. The sewing technique is the most helpful to me. My idea is to make my "life sandwich" more visually. At first, I wanted to try to make them using the combination of plastic and wood, but after discussion with my tutor, I found that various fabrics can also achieve this effect, and I can better paint on them. Moreover, they are softer and can be more interactive and become what I want, so I chose to use fabrics and sewing to make them. I tried to use different shapes and random lines to sew and make the texture of the bread on the cloth of the right color, and drew the part I wanted to express on it, such as the bread-bed. It was a good attempt at visualizing the combination of my ideas and materials.

What ideas or methods are you wanting to take forward for next week. Why have you chosen this?

Next week, I want to try more methods to do some experiments on pattern and fabric, such as white latex and ink, or water painting. The pattern is partly because I want to know whether abstract colors can be combined into a concrete picture, and I try to use white latex and ink that can be formed in the hope that this material can become a separate fabric. Not just on paper.
